Never Stop Flying The Airplane

One of the biggest lessons that you can learn while flying is to never stop flying the airplane...  at all times.  You never know when something unexpected is going to happen.  When you think about it, as a pilot, you learn that flying is all about forces and factors that you cannot even see.  Those invisible factors can definitely surprise you.

Surprise Low Level Wind Shear

May 9, 2017, reported calm morning in Toronto at Billy Bishop City Airport, winds 5 kts, moments before touch down on Runway 08, a sudden low level wind shear came from the north, lifting the left wing and pushing us south.  I never stop flying the airplane, you can see my muscle memory correct us for the landing.

What is a low level wind shear?

A wind shear is a sudden change of wind velocity and/or direction
